Decent food which is filling, tender and occasionally bombarded by wonderfully piquant capers, this is the place for big salads and healthy, accompanying dishes of spinach and other down-to-earth offers. Insalata nizzarda, popularly known as nicoise salad, is a large, very satiating bowl of lettuce, tomato, olives, capers, tuna, hard-boiled eggs, potatoes and anchovies.
Insalata capricciosa is equally big and bountiful with lettuce, tomato, mozzarella, capsicum, red onion and olives. Filleto di spigola alla Siciliana smothers a nice-size sea bass fillet Sicilian-style in Italian herbs, tomato, capers and olive, and can be baked or grilled. Trancio di salmone is similarly fired and is a generous, tangy and filling fresh salmon steak. More than 30 pizza variations are on offer, plus a dazzling array of pasta, along with steaks and pork. Dessert includes lots of decadent sweets, but health fiends can opt for a nice yoghurt fruiti di bossco. |
