Most people who eat here are tourists stopping for a quick bite while viewing the Jim Thompson house, so some Thai dishes are geared toward foreign palates. Deep-fried prawn cake is a starter served with chinese plum sauce. Phad thai goong sod includes sprouts, shrimp and other goodies with fried noodles, but tends to be bland. Pan-fried salmon salad with lemon-ginger dressing is quite nice with two pieces of fish in a deep-dish salad which includes tomatoes and cucumbers. Vegetable and fruit curry is even better and surprises with a unique mix of grapes, cauliflower, tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, baby corn and pineapple in a lively red curry soup.
Chicken green curry is mild, creamy and excellent with chunks of meat and additional ingredients vying for your taste buds. Sandwiches, Italian food and other Thai dishes are also interesting. Chocolate rum truffle cake may be disappointing, but blueberry cheesecake is very good and sinfully sweet. |
